Stone Mountain Park ~ Georgia

Macy

Updated: Sep 8, 2019

Stone Mountain Park is a short drive from Atlanta. Located at 1000 Robert E Lee Blvd, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. We paid a $20 parking fee. That was all we needed for what we wanted to do. Our first stop and the reason for our visit was the Confederate Memorial Carving. Parking and access were easy. We went on a Tuesday during the day and there were very few people there.

We drove on a short distance to the Grist Mill. It's very peaceful. There is a small waterfall that feeds into the lake. We sat and listened to the water running. A great place for a picnic.

Hiking trails wrap around on both sides of the Mill.

Our last stop was the Covered Bridge. You drive across it to a small parking lot. There is a walkway on the bridge so you can walk from one side to the other.
